Environmental Stewardship

SupHerb Farms incorporates agricultural practices that help minimize the need for herbicides and pesticides. However, when required, they are applied in accordance with Integrated Pest Management (IPM) strategies, California and Federal regulations.

Agricultural Practices

We are committed to sustainable farming practices that promote soil health, maximize irrigation efficiency and biodiversity. Furthermore, we continue to reduce our environmental footprint by using our natural resources responsibly through minimizing waste and reducing our water and energy consumption wherever possible. We strive to be good stewards to the environment and our natural resources through good agricultural practices that utilize regenerative agricultural practices and the promotion of biodiversity.

To accomplish this, SupHerb Farms works with local family farms with acreage close to our plant facility in Turlock, California. A large percentage of our crops are grown within 50 miles of our production facility, helping to reduce greenhouse gases and maintain fresh raw materials prior to processing. In addition, we minimize our environmental impact by utilizing drip irrigation where possible; drip irrigation allows us to place crop water and nutrients into the crop root zone, maximizing utilization and reducing waste. We also employ soil sensors that provide hourly measurements of the available water in the crop root zone. We analyze the plants for the accurate amount of fertilizer components and adjust applications to meet crop requirements thereby reducing fertilizer waste. These activities lessen our impact on the environment and control crop costs.
