Garlic in the Field

Allium Brief

Garlic is a specialty vegetable cultivated globally and is typically propagated by planting individual cloves. Hardneck garlic, which produces a flower stalk called a scape, has a more complex flavor and is better suited for colder climates, while softneck garlic, known for its milder taste, grows better in warmer regions.

IQF vs. Rehydrated (Jarred) Garlic

IQF = Individually Quick Frozen

FLAVOR & TEXTURE

SupHerb Farms IQF Garlic has intense, pure garlic flavor and maintains a firm, fresh-like texture ideal for all applications. Rehydrated garlic has a weak flavor with pickled or sweet notes and the texture is soft and altered due to the rehydration process.

CONVENIENCE

IQF Garlic is ready to use, fully prepared and requires no additional handling, saving time and labor. Rehydrated garlic requires draining and additional prep, increasing labor.

YIELD

IQF Garlic has 100% yield. Rehydrated garlic contains added water, meaning you pay for less usable product and significantly less flavor.
